Hi, I'm Prema. I study Computer Science and Business Economics at UC Irvine, specializing in Intelligent Systems. I'm currently interning at Optum Tech as a Software Engineer, building RAG-based agentic pipelines for data-driven decision-making.

Outside of work, I direct AI Safety Collective at UC Irvine (AISCI). We run technical fellowships, connect students with researchers in industry and academia, and grapple with existential questions. I find this field fascinating and urgent.

I've always been drawn to problems that sit at the intersection of technology and real-world impact — whether that's building tools at Medtronic to cut investigator analysis time, or teaching Python to middle schoolers at a summer camp I helped scale state-wide. I learn best by building things.

In my free time, I'm often reading something on AI policy or philosophy, trying a new coffee shop, or playing video games.
